Roxanne’s Law

Winnipeg MP Rod Bruinooge introduced a new bill (Bill C-510) in the House of Commons on Wednesday.

The bill is titled “Roxanne’s Law”, and is aimed at “protecting vulnerable women from being coerced against their will into unwanted abortions”, according to the website set up to generate support for the bill. Roxanne is the name of a young woman whose boyfriend had her murdered after she refused to have an abortion. It’s a tragic story.

I encourage you to read Roxanne’s story, read the text of the bill, and let your local MP know what you think. I will be letting mine know that I believe no woman should be forced to have an abortion she doesn’t want. No woman should have to fear violence if she chooses life for her unborn child.
